Duke Ellington Nutcracker — Presented by New World Ballet

Experience a fresh and swinging take on a holiday classic with Duke Ellington Nutcracker, presented by New World Ballet. This vibrant production fuses classical ballet with the iconic jazz compositions of Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn.
Act 1: Set in a 1940s Harlem jazz club, full of rhythm, spirit, and reimagined characters from “The Nutcracker.”
Act 2: Ballet dancers perform to beloved holiday favorites — think “Santa Baby,” “Winter Wonderland,” and more.
Choreographed by New World Ballet’s Artistic Director Victor Temple (of Dance Theatre of Harlem and Cirque du Soleil), this performance features a rich mix of student and professional dancers, all brought to life with lively jazz accompaniment.
