Instead\, he and Mrs. Claus make a uniquely Petaluma arrival – they sail up the Petaluma River on a Lind Marine tugboat\, arrive in the Turning Basin\, cross the Balshaw Bridge\, and stop in the River Plaza Shopping Center for pictures and activities! \nStarting at 11:30 am\, families will enjoy live entertainment from the Pacific Empire Chorus while waiting for Santa and Mrs. Claus to arrive! The Christmas couple will arrive around noon and will be welcomed by costumed dancers from the Petaluma School of Ballet’s “Nutcracker.” Santa and Mrs. Claus will make their way across the parking lot to their festive tent outside Taps Restaurant where they will be available for family photos. Be sure to bring your Christmas wish list! \nSanta would love to spend all afternoon in Petaluma\, but in order to hear from all the good boys and girls all over the world\, he will have to be on his way to his next destination at 1:30 pm. \nDon’t let the fun stop there! Saturday November 15 from 10am-4pm and Sunday November 16 from 10am-3pm. This two day event is free and open to the public\, with a special invitation to military and veteran families. The proceeds from this event will help local veterans in need. \nThere will be a table to “Make a Veteran a Christmas Card”\, These cards will be delivered to veterans throughout the community\, to include local assisted living facilities and nursing homes. \nLive music will be provided by local musicians. \nThe VFW Auxiliary is an all-volunteer service organization made up of the spouses\, parents\, brothers\, sisters and grandparents of the men and women who served in combat overseas. Nearly 470\,000 members in more than 3\,600 Auxiliaries across the nation work to improve the lives of veterans\, service members\, their families and their communities through volunteer projects\, patriotic programs\, youth scholarships and activities that support veterans in the North Bay area. \nWE ARE VETERAN FAMILIES HELING VETERANS.

The proceeds from this event will help local veterans in need. \nThere will be a table to “Make a Veteran a Christmas Card”\, These cards will be delivered to veterans throughout the community\, to include local assisted living facilities and nursing homes. \nLive music will be provided by local musicians. \nThe VFW Auxiliary is an all-volunteer service organization made up of the spouses\, parents\, brothers\, sisters and grandparents of the men and women who served in combat overseas. Nearly 470\,000 members in more than 3\,600 Auxiliaries across the nation work to improve the lives of veterans\, service members\, their families and their communities through volunteer projects\, patriotic programs\, youth scholarships and activities that support veterans in the North Bay area. \nWE ARE VETERAN FAMILIES HELING VETERANS.

DESCRIPTION:The Sonoma Community Center will hold its Dia de Muertos altar lighting\, as scheduled\, on November 1 at 6:00 PM. We welcome the community to join us in remembering those who have passed\, by: viewing the Center’s public altars\, the Community Butterfly Exhibit\, and visiting the gallery featuring the work of artist Adrián Arias. Community members are welcome to leave a note or photo at the altar anytime during the month of November. The Center has made the difficult decision to cancel the other festivities that had been planned for November 1st. We made this decision after consulting with community members and in acknowledgment of the uncertainty and fear in our community and across our country. As always\, we will look to the healing power of art\, creativity\, and community to respond to the needs of this time. Our butterfly exhibit features hundreds of butterflies colored by our diverse community with handwritten dreams and wishes for our collective future. The butterflies symbolize resilience\, beauty\, hope\, and migration\, and are a representation of our connection to each other. As a community center\, we are a safe space for all Sonomans to gather\, learn\, and grow. It is against our mission and values to in any way endanger or cause anxiety for our community. We stand with all of Sonoma to support each other in respect\, care\, kindness\, and dignity.
