SUMMARY:54 Years of the Annex Galleries: Discovering a Santa Rosa Institution

Now with an inventory of over 7\,000 works\, including oils\, watercolors\, drawings\, and sculpture ranging from the 16th century to today\, it has become a veritable treasure trove of historic and contemporary visual delight. SUMMARY:Bootycandy - a Left Edge Theatre Production
DESCRIPTION:Written by Robert O’Hara and directed by Serena Elize Flores. Starring Jonathen Blue\, Lexus Fletcher\, Shanay Howell and Dana Hunt \nTake a wild ride through the mind of Sutter\, a young man navigating his identity as a Black gay man in a world that doesn’t always want to understand him. In this bold and bitingly funny coming-of-age story\, playwright Robert O’Hara shatters conventions with a mashup of vignettes\, sermons\, sketches\, and fourth-wall-breaking theatrical moments. From awkward childhood memories to eye-opening adult revelations\, Bootycandy fuses outrageous satire with unflinching honesty\, confronting themes of race\, sexuality\, and cultural expectation with fearless flair. \nOur kitchen is open and serving our All New Menu during Left Edge Friday night shows & Happy Hours. \n

SUMMARY:The Miró and Isidore String Quartets Mendelssohn’s Octet at 200: A Legacy in Sound
DESCRIPTION:Two string quartets sharing the stage is always a party\, which is why the Miró and Isidore Quartets are so excited to collaborate for this program celebrating the bicentenary of Felix Mendelssohn’s Octet in E-flat major\, Op. 20\, a masterpiece that has captivated audiences and musicians alike since its premiere in late 1825. \nOur repertoire for this program spans the history of chamber music\, opening with the “Sunrise” quartet by Joseph Haydn – in many ways the inventor of the string quartet – before showcasing a contemporary American work written for the Miró by Pulitzer Prize winning Composer Caroline Shaw\, “Microfictions vol 1”. \nAnd following this wide-ranging first half\, we conclude with Mendelssohn’s Octet\, completed by the 16-year-old composer on 15 October 1825. This glorious creation reflects the spirit of the early Romantic era while also drawing inspiration from classical masters including Haydn. Mendelssohn‘s intricate textures and delicate atmospheres continue to inspire musicians today such as Caroline. \nIsidore String Quartet\nWinners of a 2023 Avery Fisher Career Grant\, and the 14th Banff International String Quartet Competition in 2022\, the New York City-based Isidore String Quartet was formed in 2019 with a vision to revisit\, rediscover\, and reinvigorate the repertory. \nMiró Quartet\nThe Miró Quartet is one of America’s most celebrated string quartets\, praised as “furiously committed” by The New Yorker and recognized for its “exceptional tonal focus and interpretive intensity” by the Cleveland Plain Dealer.” \nThe Miró and Isidore String Quartets program
