DESCRIPTION:The University Art Gallery invites you to participate in our second annual Ofrenda Comunitaria para el Día de los Muertos (Día de los Muertos Community Altar). This week-long celebration will take place from October 27 to October 31\, honoring the rich traditions of Día de los Muertos\, a time to remember and celebrate the lives of our loved ones who have passed. \nEvent Highlights: \n\nVisit & Add to Our Altar: Our community altar will be open for all to visit from October 27 to October 31\, between 10 AM and 4 PM. We encourage you to bring photos or mementos of loved ones and join us in making colorful flowers for our altar—supplies will be available!\nCatrina Procession and Elsie Allen Mariachi Lobos Musical Performance October 28\, 12-1PM. Join the Catrina Parade\, starting at the University Art Gallery (11:45 AM) and concluding at Seawolf Plaza\, where a vibrant mariachi performance awaits!\nArtist Talk and Workshop: Join us on October 31 for an engaging conversation about the history of the Catrina with Eileen Parent and Peter Pérez\, from 12 PM to 1 PM\, where we’ll explore the significance of this vibrant tradition. Don’t miss the special printmaking art activity. Lunch will be served!\n\nAspectos del Evento: \n\nVisita y Contribuye a Nuestra Ofrenda: La ofrenda comunitaria estará abierta al público del 27 al 31 de octubre\, de 10 AM a 4 PM.
